Bayern Munich name 17-year-old Alphonso Davies as host of new radio show

Bayern Munich have announced a new radio show on the NFT, the radio station for the Berlin youth scene.

Chosen from hundreds of submissions, Alphonso Davies, a professional-level, youth-league player, has been given his own hour-long show. It will be called Alphonso Davies Hour and will focus on topics relevant to his life.

The Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches, who is on loan at the NFT from Chelsea, is involved in the production and will host Davies. A format for the show has yet to be announced.

Davies, who was announced as Bayern’s third signing for the coming season on Friday, has already established himself as one of the top prospects in Canada’s professional league. In the last year he has signed for multiple German clubs including Werder Bremen, FC Kaiserslautern and Stuttgart, on loan at the latter in both the Bundesliga and the Eredivisie, and managed to score 15 goals in 41 games in the Airtricity League.

The 19-year-old has also represented Canada at the under-20 and under-17 levels, winning the Gold Medal at the 2016 U20 World Cup.
